As part of our wider project to build a new gym space for our growing school population, we will be attempting to break a Guinness World Record on Friday 03 May.
We are looking to have the world’s biggest Gaelic Football exhibition game on our school pitch. The current record stands at 399 people and we are aiming to get at least 500 people to take part in the fun and games!
Some specifics of the game itself:
- The game will be a normal 15 v 15 game of Gaelic football.
- Each player will be required to play the game for 10 minutes only. After that 10 minutes both teams will be replaced by the next ones.
- The expectation is that if we have 500-600 hundred people to take part in the game, the match will last at least 3 hours.
- Whilst we hope that we have huge number of our own students taking part, we are looking to get as many other people from the local community and clubs to participate and be part of this amazing day.
- Anybody as young as 5th class primary school students are invited to take part! There is no upper age limit so we would love to see as many parents, grandparents, former teachers or anybody on the field of play!
This record attempt is open to everbody! All you have to do is stand on the field for 10 minutes! You can run around after the football or just stand up and wait for the ball to you come!
Before, during and after the game, we will have lots of other fun activities taking place. We also hope to have food and drinks stalls to ensure everyone who attends is well catered for!
